Encoding-Decoding Constellations

By representing Islamic geometric patterns as mathematical graphs, we can create both classical and freeform constellations by sketching triangulations.

⌨️ Keyboard Controls

With the canvas focused:

V — Switch to vertex mode (for adding/moving points)
E — Switch to edge mode (for adding constrained edges)
Space — Replace the graph with a staggered point grid
Enter — Clear the graph and return to vertex mode
C — Export the constellation pattern as SVG
G — Export graph (points + constraints) as JSON
L — Import a graph from JSON

🖱️ Mouse Controls

Click — Add points to the canvas (in vertex mode)
Click + Drag — Move a vertex in vertex mode, or connect two existing vertices in edge mode
Shift + Click — Remove a vertex in vertex mode
